Hello!
A little about me.
I am currently a teacher, and for the sake of maintaining a job I will not say where I teach, since the current educational climate is not as safe as it could be. In addition to being a teacher, I am an aspiring writer trying to find the time to balance teaching, writing, and life while still maintaining some semblance of sanity. I also am a devoted gamer of all kinds, video, board, and role playing, much of which inspires my work and drives me in teaching.
But why should you listen to anything I have to say? What gives me a perspective worth listening to?
I graduated from Michigan State University in 2008 with a degree in creative writing with a focus in poetry. While I love poetry and wish I could do it all of the time, I also love writing stories. In particular, stories that feature adventure, suspense, and people overcoming impossible odds. And it's not like focusing in poetry means I didn't also dabble in other writing at MSU.
In 2009 I began my teaching certification program at Arcadia University in Pennsylvania, where I also began taking masters classes in English and some creative writing. While there I met a wonderful group of creative writers and joined their group the Assassins Guild, where we dreamed of changing the writing landscape and becoming the next big thing. In 2011 I finished my teaching certification and began substitute teaching where I finished my first (terrible) novel.
In 2013 I moved to my current location to begin teacher and I am now in my second year of full time education. This puts me in the unique position of trying to balance a full time exhaustive job, while also managing the exhaustion of writing. But I wouldn't trade (most of) it for the world.
